If you ask me, this might just be one of the best hotels in Bali, maybe even the best. You feel it the moment you see it: perched right by the ocean, The Apurva Kempinski Bali looks like a grand Balinese temple brought to life. With around 465 rooms, suites, and villas, prices can start at about \$300 a night and go up to $2,000 for the most luxurious spots. It’s definitely a splurge, but every dollar feels worth it once you’re here.

LOCATION AND FIRST IMPRESSION:

Let’s start with where you’ll find it. This beautiful resort sits in Nusa Dua, one of Bali’s most elegant areas, known for its soft beaches, calm atmosphere, and fancy shops and restaurants.

But what really sets the tone is that first glimpse inside. Stepping into the lobby feels like stepping into a palace. It’s huge and open, with high ceilings and calming water features all around. Friendly staff greet you with warm smiles and help you settle in right away. If you’ve booked one of the nicer suites or villas, you even get your own private check in and a special lounge just for you "such a nice touch after a long trip".

ROOM DETAILS:

For this stay, I chose an Oceanfront Pool Suite, and honestly, it felt like a little slice of heaven. I had my own private check-in, a beautiful breakfast spot just for suite guests, and access to pools that felt calm and exclusive. The staff here are the kindest people you’ll ever meet—always smiling, always ready to help, and they really make you feel like you belong.

My suite was huge and filled with natural light. The bed was super comfy, the minibar was stocked with treats, and the bathroom felt like a personal spa, there was a big soaking tub, a smart toilet, double sinks, and all the small things that make you feel pampered. But my favorite part? The private terrace with my own pool looking right out over the ocean. I could have spent the whole day there without moving an inch.

Just a little tip: Bali is full of cheeky monkeys! I spotted a few curious ones sneaking around my terrace, hoping to find snacks. They’re adorable but quick to steal your food, so make sure not to leave anything outside. It’s best to watch them from a safe distance and enjoy their little show.

RESTAURANTS:

When it comes to food, this place has so much to offer. You can try fresh Balinese dishes, Japanese, Chinese hot pot, or classic international meals. But my favorite was Koral Restaurant—Bali’s first underwater restaurant, complete with a giant aquarium. We did the six-course tasting dinner and it was magical. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to dress up a little and celebrate something special.

AMENITIES:

The beach is just as dreamy. It’s private, clean, and never felt crowded. I loved walking along the sand in the morning and just soaking up how peaceful it was.

And if you’re bringing the kids, they’ll have the best time too. There’s a kids’ club, a playground, and even water slides. While they have their fun, you can just unwind and enjoy the calm.

Bali is already a special place, but staying at The Apurva Kempinski takes it to a whole other level. If you’re planning a trip and want to make it truly unforgettable, I couldn’t recommend this place more.
